This tutorial is for a beginner-friendly everyday bag pattern. The bag is lined, has box corners, zipper and adjustable strap with swivel hooks and slider.
The bag in the photos and video is made from Beatrice textured faux leather vinyl , lined with cotton canvas, striped zipper tape with nylon rainbow coil and heart zipper pull.

Below is a list of the steps to create your bag.

Materials:
- Outer Fabric - A stable vinyl or faux leather
- Lining Fabric - Canvas
- Zipper and zipper Pull
- 2 x D-rings the same width as your strap
- 2 x Swivel hooks same width as your strap
- Strap approx 150cm
- Microtex/Sharp needles
- 40 weight thread

Steps to sew your bag:
1. Cut out two outer and 2 lining pieces in desired sice. The dimensions for the demo bag are 10"x12".
2. Mark each corner of the outer and lining pieces with 1.5"squares.
3. Cut out all the corner squares on all four pieces.
4. Cut your zipper the same length as the widest part of your panels (for our example this is 12").
5. Sandwich your zipper between the short side of one lining and one outer piece - they should be right sides together.
6. Using your zipper foot, sew the seam with your zipper between the two layers.
7. Turn the two pieces you just sewed so your zipper is right side out.
8. Repeat step 5 & 6 with your other lining and outer piece to the other side of the zipper.
9. Turn your fabrics right side out and topstitch each side of your zipper.
10. Add your zipper pull to the zipper tape (cutting one side of the tap shorter helps with installation).
11. Sew D-rings to each side of the zipper. We like to attach them with strapping.
12. When doing the next step - don't forget to leave an opening in the lining so you can turn your bag inside out.
13. Sew your two lining pieces together, right side together. Sew along each of the three straight edges.
14. Do the same with your outer pieces.
15. Sew your box corners - open up the corners so the seams you stitched in step 13 & 14 above are lined up. Turn the seam bulk to opposite sides of the seam and sew along the edge.
16. Close the lining opening by sewing on your machine or by hand stitching with a ladder stitch.
17. Attach strap - see video for attaching with hardware.
